Tremendous Tuesday’s “Love Your Life” Game

In the sometimes repetitive, dull or excruciatingly hectic ebb and flow of the work week it is easy to get wrapped up in the things that drive us crazy–the lack of milk in the fridge when all you want is cheerios, the driver that almost ran you off the road, the coffee that wasn’t in the pot when you needed it, because you dumped it on your new shoes, dogs that won’t listen and kids that won’t get up in the morning, or, you know, that alarm clock that never quite rings loud enough…

But this is Tuesday. Tremendous Tuesday. And as I sit here procrastinating the inevitable shower and the rummaging through my closet for town clothes and the getting-ready-to-get- off-the-ranch experience, I am mentally preparing myself for the day ahead, just like everyone does every morning. You run through the things you need to bring, the projects that need to get done, the groceries you need to pick up at the end of the day, the appointments you need to make.

Yes this is life in all its glory.

However, in light of Tremendous Tuesday, a day that generally isn’t so exciting until you add a great adjective, like tremendous, to the beginning, I want to hear from you. I want you to cut through the negative and make each other’s day by filling in this sentence, borrowed from one of my favorite bloggers…

“I love life, because life includes: ____________.”

Now, you don’t have to get fancy on me here. The blank can include anything from double chocolate cheesecake to the love of your life.

Here, I’ll go first.

“I love life because life includes: Fruity Pebbles (and I’m an adult now and can eat them whenever I want).”

Wow, that felt good. This is a great idea, thank you very much.

How ’bout some more?

“I love life because life includes:

This…

and this…oh my heart…

…and this…I’m melting…

…and this…mmmm, delicious….

…and this…yes, delicious again…

…and this…not as much delicious as it is funny...

…and this…I’ll get you the recipe….

…and this…

…and this…

…and this…

…and this…

…and this…

…and of course, this…

Pug, not so happy about swimming

Ahhh, aren’t we happy now?Β Β Tuesday might just be one of my new favorites…

Now don’t let me down, hit me with your life loves! I think we’ll all be smiling a bit more today for it.

I better hit the trail.

Love ya!

Jessie

  1. I am happy for friends like you and pictures of the life I wish I werre leading right now (performing music and living in the wide open spaces). I miss ND so much and I am dying to go back to Watford and see some of the changes. I haven’t been there since ’89. And, your dad must be one of the world’s best dads and grandpas. You’re a lucky girl.

  2. β€œI love life, because life includes: Great people to travel down the road with, even though you probably think I am the worse driver in the world ….and I don’t think you stepped on the imaginary brake on your side even once! Thanks Jessie!”

  3. I love life because I have fabulous grandchildren, a great relationship with my son, and I’m best friends with his wife. I also love life because now I see my son going through what I did when he was young. πŸ™‚

    • Karen, you are lucky to have such a great relationship with your son and daughter in law. I love life for this same reason…that I picked a man who has become great friends with my pops and that the women in my family and in my life have taught me what it means to be strong and smart and passionate and that I married in to a family who loves me like one of their own. Thanks so much for sharing!

  4. I love life because each day I get the chance to tell those dear to me that I love them. I also have the opportunity to watch my grand daughter learn new things everyday. And to enjoy my children as they become young adults and continue the circle started by those much older than me.

  5. I love life because the sun rises every morning and I’m here to see it; because I have a Husband who is also a friend; children who are friends; grandchildren who are growing into productive, responsible people; I have my dogs who lavish their licky kisses on me and never turn down a chance to go for a walk with me; a cat who sometimes decides it’s okay to curl up on me and take a nap;family and friends who are truly friends and are good people; a home in the country where I can see truly blue skies during the day and billions of stars at night and so much more than I can ever say.

  6. I love life because life includes hilarious moments – today’s being when I was dumping some “hazardous household waste” at the Bismarck municipal landfill and a guy driving by (with his own truckload of waste) gave me a “Hey Baby!” So funny I was laughing all the way home.

  7. I love life because each day is a new day and we are only mere visitors on this beautiful planet. If my day doesn’t go well one day, I have the next day to start over. I love life because of my friends and family who teach me new things and reasons WHY I shouldn’t take things for granted. Thanks Jessie for allowing me into a glimpse into your life πŸ™‚
